A Very Potter Musical & A Very Potter Sequel

A Very Potter Musical

A Very Potter Musical is a musical parody of the very popular book and movie series Harry Potter. A Very Potter Musical brings together parts from all of the different books/movies and puts them together in a humorous way which allows you to follow the life of the main character Harry Potter (Darren Criss) and some of his peers.

A lot of great music was written for this play. The music and lyrics were written by Darren Criss and AJ Holmes. The music written for the show included songs such as Granger Danger, Different As Can Be and Not Alone. Below are links to these three songs performed lived by Team Starkid at Space Tour, in late 2011.

Not Alone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSh4uHvusD4

I would recommend this musical to Harry Potter fans and even Non-Harry Potter fans. I know of many people who aren't particularly Harry Potter fans but loved the show and thought it was hilarious! The whole show is available to watch for free on the StarkidPotter page. Here's the link to Act One, Part One of A Very Potter Musical:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmwM_AKeMCk.

A Very Potter Musical was named one of the '10 Best Viral Videos of 2009' by Entertainment Weekly and is currently rated 7.4/10 stars on imdb.com.

A Very Potter Sequel

A Very Potter Sequel is the follow-on musical from A Very Potter Musical. In a way this Sequel turns into a Prequel by using a time-turner to go back in time to Harry's first year attending Hogwarts. A Very Potter Sequel was another huge success for Team Starkid, leaving them as well as fans with the hope that one day they will create A Very Potter Three-quel.

You can also check out the whole musical for free on Youtube on the StarkidPotter page or follow this link to Act One, Part One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OepW-AG-Ris

A Very Potter Sequel brought in more characters that A Very Potter Musical did not have such as: Dolores Umbridge (Joe Walker), Remus Lupin (Brian Holden) and Luna Lovegood (Arielle Goldman), along with many others.

In my personal opinion I found A Very Potter Sequel even more humorous and entertaining then A Very Potter Musical, so if you loved a Very Potter Musical, I guarantee you will love the sequel as well and even if you didn't love A Very Potter Musical, believe me...the sequel is still something I recommend you check out!

Little White Lie

Little White Lie

Episode 1: Part 1 -
http://www.youtube.com/user/StarKidPotter#p/search/0/KWhi__zmDSY

Little White Lie is Starkids' TV style YouTube Show. It only went for one season and it ended on a Cliff Hanger, leaving so many Starkid fans with the question "Are they ever going to make Season 2?". There are no guarentees yet that there will be a season 2 but the writers of the show have a rough idea of what would happen in Season 2 if it was made. The main two reasons they never made season two was because producing a show costs so much money and for a profit-free organisation it is really hard to come up with so much money to make the show, the other reason being that a lot of the actors have moved away and stared careers elsewhere so it is hard to get in touch with everyone.

Little White Lie is about two siblings, Sami and Duder with the dream or becoming rockstars, but their band isn't very good because they both lack skills when it comes to actually writing the songs. They then hold auditions for their band and only one person turns up...Kevin. Kevin is the outsider at school, he has no friends and he is very quiet. Sami doesn't want him in the band, mainly for the fact she doesn't like him and she thinks the is too conceeded. Little does Sami know that Kevin is a songwriter, and a good one at that...but she also doesn't know that Kevin is inlove with her. When leaving the auditions Kevin is suddenly hit by a car and he goes into a coma. Sami and Duder then go to Kevin's house to comfort his family in the horrible moment and they find all of his sheet music. The siblings then take it home and try it out, and it turns out great! Sami and Duder's school then announces the annual talent show and Sami and Duder decide to play one of Kevins' songs but just before they go on stage they are made to sign a sheet of paper saying that it was their own original song. After thinking it over they decide to sign it anyway, even though the song wasn't theirs. Everyone loved the song and although they didn't win the talent show, they got picked up by a local record company and their whole lives end up wrapped up in this lie. The series ends with a shot of Kevin in a coma and then he suddenly wakes up.

Starship

Starship is the latest of Team Starkids' musicals. Starship is set on a planet called Bug-World which is inhabited by Bugs. In this story the main characters' name is Bug (Joey Richter). Bug is an insect who really wants to become a Starship Ranger (A human space soldier). The Starship Rangers mission in this story is to colonize Bug-World. The Starship Rangers are run by Commander Up (Joe Walker) who was previously injured in the 'Robot Wars' which was one of the Starship Rangers attempts to colonize a different planet. Because of Commander Ups' injury everyone in his team believes that his not up for the job, well everyone apart from Taz (Lauren Lopez) who fought alongside Commander Up in the Robot Wars. Taz tries to keep all of the Starship Rangers in line and keeps them from saying bad things about Up, like saying he isn't strong enough or that he is "soft".

While the Starship Rangers are devising a plan to colonize Bug-World, Bug is still dreaming of becoming a Starship Ranger. A Bug named Pincer offers Bug the chance to become human and also become a Starship Ranger, the only thing Bug must do once he is turned into a Starship Ranger is bring the other Starship Rangers to Pincer for 'dinner' but Bug didn't understand what Pincer actually meant when he said this and agreed to the deal. Pincer then turns Bug into a Human and puts him into a Starship Ranger suit that Pincer had had from the last group of Starship Rangers that tried to colonize Bug-World, the only thing that Bug had left to do now was find the Starship Rangers and bring them back to Pincer.

Along Bugs' journey he falls in love with a female Starship Ranger named February (Denise Donovan), but February has a fear of bugs and Bug is too afraid to tell February about who he truly is. He also finds out what Pincer really meant by "having them for dinner" and tries to save the Starship Rangers. The only way Bug can save them though is by stabbing Pincer and taking him into the spaceships' airlock, but before he does so he confesses his love for February. In the airlock Bugs' human body gets destroyed and he returns to his true self...a bug. Bug is frightened because he believes that when February finds out that he is a bug, but despite the fact he was a Bug, February loved him. In the end they all learned to get along and no matter if they were bug or human, they lived together in harmony.

Who are Team Starkid?

Team Starkid are a group of former University of Michigan students who formed their very own Musical Theatre Company called Starkid Productions. They are a huge YouTube sensation especially for Harry Potter fans, this being from two of their YouTube shows 'A Very Potter Musical' and 'A Very Potter Sequel'. They have two other musicals on YouTube, one of them being 'Starship' which had sold-out performances for every show performed in Chicago. Late in 2011 Starkid did a concert tour of parts of America and UK called Space Tour. They also appeared at Harry Potter Convention - Leaky-Con in 2011 and will appear there again in 2012.

One of the members of Team Starkid is 'Glee' star Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson). Darren portrayed the role of 'Harry Potter' in both 'A Very Potter Musical' and 'A Very Potter Sequel'. Darren also co-writes and performs music for Starkid Productions. Darren also played the character 'Toby Phillips' in Starkids' original television style YouTube show called 'Little White Lie'.

Another Starkid member, Joey Richter who stars as Ron Weasley in both of Starkids Harry Potter shows (A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel) and plays the lead role in Starkids' Production of Starship as Bug. Joey is soon going to appear on the Disney Channel show 'Jessie', although his role and how lone Joey will be on the show is unknown.
